The 2024 Grüner Veltliner Rotes Tor Federspiel, by now an iconic brand name for Hirtzberger, is the estate Grüner Veltliner. While the nose is slow to awaken, a lovely lift of citrus appears before the gentle savor of yeast emerges. The palate benefits from an almost zesty pear peel edge that lends structure to the creamy, slightly salty mid-palate. Its usual smooth flow leads to a mouthwatering finish.(AK)
