The 2024 Riesling Hochrain Smaragd comes from a loess-based sub-parcel of Axpoint and includes some vines that are more than 70 years old, with the remainder around 40 years old. The nose is all scent, all tangerine, all crushed citrus foliage. On the palate, there is a notion of lemon oil and a tingling zestiness. Ripeness, freshness and purity meet at an exquisite intersection—a golden cut.(AK)
