The 2022 Barolo Villero is one of the highlights in this range from Oddero. Strong spiced and mentholated notes meld into a core of dark red-tone fruit. Leather, incense, tobacco, dried herbs, lavender and graphite lend notable layers of dimension. Bold and explosive, with tons of energy, the 2022 is very complete, not to mention an unqualified success for the year. All this needs is time to soften a bit. (AG)

A layered wine with floral aromas of roses and violets as well as red cherries, some meaty character and savory depth. Supple attack. Medium-bodied, it shines with density, showing thick, dusty tannins and chewy acidity. Tight, austere finish. Best after 2026. (AF)

Aromas of rose, ripe berry, oak-driven spice and a whiff of hay lead the nose on the Oddero 2022 Villero. On the palate, firm rather grippy tannins support Marasca cherry, cranberry, vanilla, cocoa and licorice. Fresh acidity keeps it lifted. (KO)
