Bid on this bottle of 2014 Domaine de Montille Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Malconsorts" ((94-96RP), (92-94BH), 94VN). Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Vosne Romanée 1Er Cru les Malconsorts is 100% whole cluster, though you cannot tell that on the nose. It has wonderful definition that is very perfumed and floral, real pinoté here that just expands with each swirl. The palate is supple, saline on the entry with super-fine tannin, very pure and detailed with an exquisite, poised, sophisticated finish that is real Malconsorts. This is just sublime. Burghound

*Outstanding* A discreet application of oak sets off the openly floral and spicy red currant, plum, sandalwood and Asian tea scents. There is impressive mid-palate density to the muscular and notably powerful medium weight plus flavors that seem to be constructed on a firm base of minerality, all wrapped in strikingly persistent finish that is austere but well-balanced thanks to the abundant level of sappy dry extract. Like the Clos du Roi, this is explicitly built-to-age and don't waste your precious bottles by drinking them too young. (03/2017)

Vinous

(vinified entirely with whole clusters; 55% new oak) Medium red, not particularly dark at the rim Slightly carnal aromas of raspberry, cherry, mocha, spices and sexy oak Boasts lovely sweetness and breadth but also terrific delicacy and definition to the fine-grained flavors of raspberry, spices, minerals and flowers Showing more personality today than the Clos du Roi even if it's built for a long life in bottle Finishes with seriously suave tannins and terrific length. Jancis Robinson

Deep crimson. Much more relaxed than the Côte de Beaune wines although there is some of the Vosne freshness. Grainy tannins on the end. Good terroir expression even if not as vivid as some. Some vibration on the end though. (JR) 17/20 (01/2016)
