Domaine Guiberteau is a leading Saumur estate that hit its stride in the late 1990s when Romain Guiberteau returned home and began bottling instead of selling grapes. Guided early on by Clos Rougeard, he pushed toward terroir-driven wines from Brézé, one of the Loire’s benchmark limestone sites. The domaine farms roughly 17–19 hectares of Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc under organic certification. In the cellar, the approach stays restrained—native fermentations, modest oak, and minimal intervention. The result is a focused range: chiseled, mineral Chenin and finely structured Cabernet Franc that have helped elevate Saumur’s reputation.
