Burghound

A wonderfully fresh, cool and ultra-pure nose that is the essence of red pinot fruit and rose petal. The vibrant, refined and beautifully detailed medium weight flavors possess a caressing mouth feel, all wrapped in a lingering finish that dances across the palate. This isn't as complex or classy as the best here but it's certainly very pretty. (01/2016)

John Gilman

The 2014 Combottes chez Barthod is a very classically red fruity young Chambolle this year, offering up a vibrant nose of cherries, strawberries, roses, a fine base of soil, nutskin and just a touch of mustard seed on top. On the palate the wine is fullish, pure and tangy, with a fine signature of soil, lovely red fruit at the core, bright acids and lovely bounce and grip on the focused and classy finish. A very pretty bottle in the making. 90+ (12/2015)

Bright, dark red. Delicate aromas of red cherry and mint lifted by a stony nuance. Brisk and tightly wound, with red berry and spice flavors accented by pepper and herbs. A bit lean for this cuvée but with a lovely light touch. I find this less dark in its fruit quality than the village offering. (ST) (12/2015)
