Bid on this bottle of 2014 Domaine Fourrier Vougeot 1er Cru "Les Petits Vougeot" ((90-92BH), (90-92RP), (90-92VN), 91JG). Vinous: "Healthy dark red. Blackberry, violet, rose petal and licorice on the nose; more Clos Vougeot than Chambolle-Musigny in character (this climat lies between Clos Vougeot and Chambolle Amoureuses). Concentrated and dense but with a light touch. Quite youthfully bound up today, showing a faint saline quality. A black-fruit style of this wine, with serious tannins. Classy juice. “A notably higher-toned nose offers up notes of red raspberry, cherry and lavender that are trimmed in a hint of exotic tea. There is a lush and generous mouth feel to the wonderfully refined middle weight flavors that exude ample minerality on the focused and tautly muscular finish. As it virtually always does this is really a Chambolle in drag and delivers that beguiling quality of power without weight.” (01/2016)

“The 2014 Vougeot 1er Cru les Petit Vougeot (which unlike the Clos Vougeot is "domaine") offers kirsch, orange zest and apricot blossom on the nose, generous from the start and no coaxing necessary. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannin, rounded in the mouth, no smooth edges with pure strawberry and raspberry coulis infused with white pepper and sage. This is a lovely Vougeot from Jean-Marie Fourrier. Drink through 2030. (NM)” (12/2015)

“The 2014 Petits Vougeots from Domaine Fourrier is excellent and, once again, a dead-ringer for a fine Chambolle premier cru. The lovely nose delivers a refined blend of strawberries, cherries, roses, coffee, chalky soil tones and a touch of nutskin in the upper register. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and shows off lovely mid-palate depth, with fine-grained tannins, lovely focus and nascent complexity and a long, vibrant and elegant finish. One of the great sleepers of the vintage. (JG) 91+” (11/2015)

“Deep crimson. Sweet, charming fruit. Extreme charm and freshness. Very winning. Such charm and fruit! Good freshness underneath shows it really is worth keeping this! 17/20 points (JR)” (11/2015)
