93+ points Stephen Tanzer for Vinous: "Full medium ruby. Slightly high-toned aromas of crushed mountain blackberry and blueberry, licorice, violet, wild herbs, graphite and menthol. Large-scaled, broad and sweet on entry, then a bomb of mountain berries in the middle palate but still with remarkable energy and definition thanks to piquant notes of minerals, flowers and wild herbs. Big, dusty tannins spread out horizontally to saturate the palate and build. Terrific verve for this classic mountain Cabernet from both sides of the county line. This youthful wine still has a long life ahead of it and may yet merit an even higher rating." (05/2020)

“Graphite, pencil shavings, mint, wild flowers, melted road tar, rosemary and cedar are some of the many notes that burst from the glass in the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve. All the best elements of the Pride house style come through in the glass. The 2010 is rich and intense, but also beautifully nuanced and delineated, especially for such a big wine. Firm tannins frame the explosive finish. (AG)” (11/2013)

Wine Enthusiast
“This is a great Cabernet, blended with a drop of Petit Verdot. It shows the intensity of mountain fruit, with incredibly concentrated black currant and cassis flavors, with superb tannins. Few Cabernets have shown this degree of ageability.” (12/2013)

James Suckling
“A Cabernet with lots of dried-red-fruit and eucalyptus character as well as animal and leather undertones. Full body with firm tannins and a fresh finish.” (03/2015)
