Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2013 Hidden Ridge "55% Slope" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 92WS). Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon 55% Slope comes from the Sonoma side of the Mayacamas Mountains. It is 100 % Cabernet Sauvignon from a vineyard planted at 1, 700 feet. This is a remarkable wine and reminiscent of the great classics from the golden era of the Mayacamas on the Napa side (such as the 1968, 1970, 1973 and 1974) come to mind when tasting this beauty. It is simply loaded. Dense purple in color, the wine has notes of licorice, crème de cassis, Asian plum sauce, cedar wood and earth. Full-bodied, opulent and irresistible already, it is capable (because of the impeccable balance and purity) of aging 20-25 or more years. This is a modern-day classic that could compete with very finest Cabernet-based wines in the world. (RP) 97+" (03/2016)

Bottle Size: 750 ml
Provenance: Purchased from K&L Auction and stored in a professional temp-controlled wine cellar of an SF Bay Area based collector & repeat consignor. Hand delivered to K&L
Condition: Excellent
Named for the vertiginous incline of its vineyard blocks, the 55% Slope bottling reflects Hidden Ridge Vineyards’s long-standing commitment to extreme hillside farming on Mount Veeder AVA. These precipitous, south-facing slopes sit above the fog line on fractured volcanic soils, forcing deep root systems and naturally low yields. The terroir favors long hang times and preserves acidity, producing a Cabernet defined by tension, mineral drive, and mountain-grown structure rather than overt opulence.

“An immense, powerful expression of rich, extracted Cabernet, with a medley of dusty, gravelly earth, dense, chewy dark berry and currant notes, and accents of licorice and sage. Most impressive on the finish, where the flavors gush forth. (JL)” (11/2016)
