2017 Worthy Park 4 Year "Extra" K&L Exclusive Barrel #1618 Cask Strength Single Cask Jamaican Rum

Bid on this bottle of 2017 Worthy Park 4 Year "Extra" K&L Exclusive Barrel #1618 Cask Strength Single Cask Jamaican Rum. The famous high ester marque from Worthy Park is available for the very first time as a cask strength single barrel under the distillery's own label. Rum has equally been produced intermittently until 1962 when production was shut down. It wasn't until 2005 that the Clarke family was able to re-establish the plant and launched their now popular Rum-Bar brand. The facility, being relatively new, is a bit more polished than some of the other producers on the island, but still producing an extremely sought-after high ester rum of the highest order. Using just two of Worthy Parks four fermenters and fermented without temperature controls over nearly 3 weeks. Double distilled on Forsyth build double retort pot stills, it's no surprise that Worthy Park Extra is one of the most delicious and flavorful products on the market.

The famous high ester marque from Worthy Park is available for the very first time as a cask strength single barrel under the distillery's own label. The Worthy Park Estate was founded in 1670 deep within the Lluidas Vale settlement in Saint Catherine's Parish. It has been an important sugar growing area since at least the 1710s. The property was gifted to Lt. Francis Price by Oliver Cromwell for his service but has been with the Clarke family since 1912. Clocking in as high as 900 ppm and aged in ex-bourbon barrels for four hot humid summers in Lluidas Vale, this barrel represents the very best of what Worthy Park has to offer. Using just two of Worthy Parks four fermenters and fermented without temperature controls over nearly 3 weeks. This highly inefficient production method more than makes up for the loss of efficiency with flavor. Double distilled on Forsyth build double retort pot stills, it's no surprise that Worthy Park Extra is one of the most delicious and flavorful products on the market.
