Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Continuum Oakville Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 96TWI, 95VN, 94WS, 93CG, 92WE) in original wood. The Wine Independent: "A blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc, 7% Petit Verdot, and 4% Merlot, the 2009 Continuum was made with 82% of the fruit from Pritchard Hill and the remainder from Diamond Mountain, Mt. Veeder, and St. Helena. It is deep garnet-colored and glides gracefully out of the glass with notions of warm cassis, blackberry preserves, and kirsch, plus suggestions of pencil shavings, unsmoked cigars, cumin seed, and cast-iron pan. Full-bodied, the palate is packed with muscular black fruits, supported by firm, grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing with loads of mineral and earth layers. (LPB)" (06/2023)

94 points Stephen Tanzer in Vinous: "Bright ruby-red. Aromas of dark berry, licorice, mocha and spices are complicated by an intriguing resiny character. Generous, silky and concentrated; at once thick and bright, with its strong fruit, tobacco and saline mineral flavors conveying a strong impression of extract. This was rather tight when I first tasted it from the bottle but today it boasts a lovely creaminess of texture. Finishes very long, with well-buffered tannins. Delicious now but it should on for many years." (7/2019)

Vinous
“The 2009 Continuum is still in that part of its life where fruit and texture dominate, while the more aromatic qualities are yet to fully emerge. A rich, explosive wine, the 2009 can be enjoyed young for its exuberance, but the best is yet to come. Personally, I would wait a bit on the 2009. The finish is rich, layered and sumptuous. (AG) 95+” (11/2013)

Wine Spectator
“Sleek and understated, making its mark with firm, dense, tightly wound espresso, dried berry, crushed rock and black licorice flavors, with a finish that emphasizes the loamy earthiness. The tannins are firm and well-integrated. (JL)” (09/2012)

Connoisseurs Guide
“Proportion and polish are the strengths of this very deep wine, and, although starting out on a note of sweet fruit, it is far more than simply fruity. It smacks of vanilla and cream and shows the classic loamy traits of fine Napa Valley Cabernet, and its highlights of olives and roasted beets lend a distinctive twist all its own. It is supple and silky with bountiful yet mannerly tannins, and its considerable richness comes without sacrifice of refinement. All of its parts are so seamlessly fit that it is bound to tempt early drinking, but it has a long life before it and will age famously. *Two Stars*” (08/2012)

Wine Enthusiast
“The ’09 Continuum proves the adage that a great winery will produce fine wine even in a compromised vintage—such as 2009, with its cool conditions and rain during harvest. With dense tannins and a solid core of blackberry and spice flavors, the wine shows lovely complexity, with firm and masculine minerality. *Cellar Selection*” (08/2012)
