“I have always admired this wine and my most recent experience with it simply confirms just how good it is. There has been relatively little apparent evolution as the nose remains ultra-elegant, cool and refined with its stone-infused red Pinot fruit and hint of crushed leaf-infused aromas. There is a beguiling texture to the gorgeously detailed and wonderfully vibrant mineral-driven middle weight flavors where there is impeccably good balance to the strikingly persistent finish. A classic Clos St. Jacques that could actually be approached now though there is plenty of upside development potential remaining. As I noted in my original review, this is indeed 'terrific.' “Deep red. Compelling nose combines purple fruits, violet, red licorice, wild herbs and mint. Dense, strong and minerally but with a light touch. Quite ripe for 2008 but displays lovely finesse.
