Morgan Twain-Peterson may be the most talented young winemaker in United States. How could he not be, growing up in vineyards beside his well-known father, winemaker Joel Peterson of Ravenswood? Morgan has done exceptionally well in the eyes of the press and has many fans here at K&L with his Bedrock label. He thoughtfully crafts small-production bottlings from old vines located in “heritage” vineyards throughout California. Hard to come by, these Bedrock wines already have a loyal and rabid following that just keeps growing year after year.

“Once again, the 2016 Oakville Farmhouse Heritage Wine is one of the most compelling and singular wines in this range. The field blend of Negrette, Petite Sirah, Mondeuse, Zinfandel, Carignane, Chenin Blanc and other grapes harkens back to a time when Napa Valley was much less Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated than it is today. Lifted, aromatic and sensual, the 2016 is all class. This is the first vintage in which a small amount of white grapes were co-fermented. Stylistically, the 2016 is the most gracious and perfumed version of this wine yet. (AG)” (04/2018)
