Nikka "Discovery Series: The Grain 2023 Limited Release" Japanese Blended Grain Whisky

This rare blend of grain whiskies from four unique Nikka distilleries. It is the third and final release in the Nikka Discovery series before next years 2024 release to celebrate Nikka's 90th anniversary. Throughout Nikka's history grain whisky production has been vital. They have produced coffey grain at the Miyagikyo distillery - which is the core of this whisky, but they have also made many other grains in their experimentation over the years. Miyagikyo's other well known grain whisky - the Coffey malt is blended in along with the now closed Nikka Nishinomiya coffey grain and coffey malt distillates. Moji, a new grain whisky made from barley, and Satsuma Tsukasa, new grain whiskies made from barley, corn, and rye round out the blend. Nonchill filtered and bottled at 48% ABV, only 3,300 cases were produced for the world. Aged in a variety of casks, predominatly refill, remade and re-charred, with a light influence fo American oak and new hogshead barrels.
