Reviewed June 2023From a vineyard off Manley Lane replanted to Cabernet in 2002 by Gary Morisoli, the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Godward Vineyard is the first vintage for this bottling (previously, the fruit was sold to BV). It nicely captures the spirit of the Rutherford AVA, combining elements of dusty earth and ripe cherries, accented by hints of dark chocolate, cinnamon and cedar. It's medium to full-bodied, with a plush texture and a long, mouthwatering finish. (JC)

Sumptuous aromas of blueberries, violets, creme de cassis, and mocha. Plush, full-bodied with hedonistic dark fruits, ripe, fine-grained tannins, loamy earth, chocolate, and salty crushed stone minerals. Winemaker Sam Kaplan sourced fruit from Godward Vineyard on the Rutherford Bench, a source for Mending Wall, Sterling, and Girard. (JC)
