Bid on this 3-bottle tasting lot; including 2-bottles of 2014 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (96DC, 95JA, 95JD, 94VN, 94WE, 94WS, 93JS) and 1-bottle of 2014 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (1.5L) (96DC, 95JD, 94VN, 94WS, 93JS, 93RP). Of the 2014 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac, Decanter writes: "Strongly scented on the nose. Smooth and supple, this has bite and tang and grip, a juicy almost sweet centre with lovely aspects of creaminess which give this more texture, weight and body than some. It's still not heavy, but you can feel the layering of this wine, nuanced and coming in waves, really excellently presented, lots of character and lots to like. Also, still feels relatively young, and although you could drink this now, it will age too. Really shines out the glass. Makes you smile. Totally moreish! (GH)" (12/2024)

95 points Neal Martin for Vinous: "It is a tight race but here Pichon Lalande edges it. It has a wonderful, complex, intense bouquet with blackberry, briary, graphite and mint – just a straight-down-the-line Pauillac with all the aristocratic flair you look for. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, layers of pure black fruit laced with graphite and mint. It is blessed with a satin-like texture, not a hair out of place from start to finish, with a long, persistent aftertaste that completes a fabulous wine for the vintage." (03/2018)

Caressing and finessed tannins, with a pronounced floral character to the Cabernet Sauvingon, fragrant tomato leaf and iris alongside the dark cassis and bilberry fruits. Love this, totally delivering on the potential of 2014 in this corner of the Médoc. Hard to resist. This was the longest harvest on record at the estate, stretching from September 16 to October 14. 36hl/h yield, 60% new oak. First year in the new cellar, 3.61ph. (02/2024)

Showing the hallmark elegance and seductiveness of this terrific estate, the 2014 Pichon Longueville Comtesse De Lalande is deeply colored (especially in the vintage) and delivers a heavenly bouquet of crème de cassis, ripe plums, graphite, cedar pencil, roasted coffee, and tons of building minerality and liquid rock-like nuances. (11/2017)

Vinous

The 2014 Pichon Comtesse de Lalande has a gorgeous bouquet with a mixture of red and black fruit, scents of pencil box and wild hedgerow, gaining intensity in the glass. It is a little more opulent than the Pichon Baron. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins, silky smooth in texture, moving discretely towards secondary flavors. However, the finish is brighter than many of its peers. Excellent. (NM) (03/2024)

Wine Enthusiast

Warm and ripe, this is a beautifully balanced wine. It is packed with black-currant fruits that are bursting out of the glass. A darker side comes with the tannins and new wood flavors that are still prominent. *Cellar Selection* (RV) (02/2017)

Wine Spectator

Very solid, with lots of cassis bush and sweet tobacco notes adding texture to the core of crushed ripe raspberry, blackberry and plum fruit flavors. A licorice snap accent dances throughout, while a bolt of iron runs underneath. This is Pauillac. (JM) (03/2017)

James Suckling

Aromas of cassis bush and shaved chocolate with berries. Full body, velvety-textured tannins and a long and flavorful finish. Tangy undertones with fresh acidity. (02/2017)

Tasted blind. Dark and youthful colour. Leafy with cigar-box evolution and just a touch charry. Lots of freshness on the palate even though the oak is still quite present. Fine-grained with a mouth-watering finish. (JH) 17/20 Points (02/2024)

A Second Growth Pauillac, Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande sits just across the border from Saint-Julien, a location that helps explain the estate's unusually polished profile within Pauillac. The 2014 grand vin was built around Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot in support.

Incredibly pure, textured, full-bodied, and with a seamless integration of its fruit, tannin, and acidity, it’s already approachable but will keep for two to three decades. (11/2017)

Wine Advocate

The 2014 Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande has an expressive bouquet with lively blackberry, cedar, flint and graphite aromas that are not powerful, yet display admirable precision. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, the Merlot content lending this Pauillac its trademark fleshiness and roundness, yet there is clearly structure here (not always a trait of this Pauillac growth). It will develop more complexity and personality with bottle age, but at the moment you can sit back and just admire the cohesion and superb length. Winemaker Nicolas Glumineau has overseen a quite wonderful Pichon-Lalande, one with inbuilt longevity. (NM) (03/2017)
