Bid on this bottle of 2004 Domaine Bouchard Père & Fils Montrachet Grand Cru (95WE, 94BH, 94ST). Wine Enthusiast: "This wine is deceptive. At first smell and taste, it doesn’t show much—its spice and green-fruit aromas are not at all obvious. It’s when you roll it around your mouth, that all the layers of flavor emerge. It is powerful, rounded, but with a fine line of minerality that holds the whole wine on a knife edge. The wood is beautifully judged, the fruit just beginning to develop secondary aromas. Hold for several years. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (12/2006)

“A now fully mature nose still requires some vigorous swirling to coax the mildly reduced and reluctant cool and airy white flower, ripe orchard fruit and spice notes to reveal themselves. The large-scaled flavors are reasonably well-concentrated, and particularly so for the vintage, with a powerfully focused finish brimming with minerality. This is big a and intense Montrachet which, not surprisngly in this very large format bottle, is still quite young and while jeroboams are not exactly available everywhere one looks, if you have one, it could certainly be enjoyed now or held for at least another 5 years and 10 might prove to be even better. In a word, excellent.” (03/2019)

“Deep aromas of clove and iodine. Extremely tight, dry and backward, giving up little today. Very intensely flavored and steely; in comparison, the young 2005 is much fruitier and creamier today. This one is most impressive now on the subtle, stony, rising finish. An extremely unevolved wine that calls for extended cellaring. (ST) 94+” (10/2006)
