Jasper Morris

While the other grapes that Nicolas grows from this same plot are from young vines, the Aligoté was planted in 1914. They are still delivering, with 65 hl/ha in 2022. What’s not to like when the result is this good. Deeper in colour, with a strikingly elegant bouquet, but that is nothing to the palate which has an exquisitely perfectly ripe fruit, caresses the mouth, finishing on refined acidity. This dances and is so persistent. Brilliant aftertaste. (11/2023)

Vinous

The 2022 Bourgogne Aligoté La Corvée de Bully comes from vines planted in 1914. The complex bouquet evokes images of the sea with touches of sea spray and Crustacea. The palate is beautifully balanced with a pithy entry. Offering orange pith, pear and quite a conspicuous saline element, this feels persistent and beautifully poised on the finish. A cerebral Aligoté. Three (used) barrels produced. (NM) (01/2024)
