Founded by winemaker Julien Fayard and vintner Ken Quivet, Quivet Cellars focuses on small-production Napa Valley wines sourced from some of the region’s most respected vineyard sites. Pellet Vineyard, located on the western benchlands of St. Helena, is prized for its gravelly, well-drained soils and warm daytime temperatures moderated by cool evening air flowing through the valley. The site consistently produces Cabernet Sauvignon with both concentration and structure, while Quivet’s polished but terroir-conscious winemaking style emphasizes balance, texture, and vineyard expression over sheer power.

Quivet Cellars began in 2006 under winemaker Mike Smith, who built the label around tiny-lot Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah sourced from top Napa and Sonoma sites. The partners named the project for Quivet Neck in Dennis, Massachusetts, reflecting their family ties to that historic Cape Cod community. Vineyard sources include Beckstoffer Las Piedras, Kenefick Ranch, McGah Family Vineyards, and Las Madres, all farmed for low yields and concentrated fruit. Production remains extremely limited, with fermentations handled in small lots and élevage in premium French oak. The focus is on single-vineyard bottlings that highlight site character.
