“Offers fresh, juicy, snappy raspberry and wild berry flavors, shaded by spice and wilted rose. The delicate, minerally finish shows understated elegance. (JL)” (09/2015)

“The 2012 Pinot Noirs display much less extraction, tannin and body than vintages from 10 or 12 years ago reveal. The 2012 Pinot Noir Kistler Vineyard, which comes primarily from the Calera clone, has oodles of strawberries and floral blueberries in a soft, round, medium-bodied style. Pure, pretty and elegant... “Pale crimson. Pure, refined nose. Very lively and energetic, almost as though there were a little carbon dioxide in there. Juicy and edgy with definite sweetness and purity. Some muscularity on the finish. Very neat and well balanced. Very complete. (JR)” (02/2015)

“Deceptively medium in body, the 2014 Pinot Noir Kistler Vineyard packs a real punch. Succulent red cherry, rose petal, lavender and violet are all pushed forward, but it is the wine's inner sweetness and aromatics that stand out. Today, the KV comes across as very restrained, with bright acids and fabulous balance. A rush of sweet red cherry, blueberry and pomegranate leave a lasting impression. The 2014 is going to need a bit of time in bottle to unwind, but it is superb. (AG) 95+” (03/2017)

“The Kistler Vineyard Pinot Noir is produced mainly from Calera clone with some Swan clone contribution. Pale to medium ruby-colored, the 2014 Pinot Noir Kistler Vineyard has a beautiful earthy nose of tree bark, underbrush and black soil over a core of cranberries and red currants plus a hint of Provence herbs. Medium-bodied and elegantly fruited in the mouth, the delicate red berry and earth flavors are well-supported by fine, grainy tannins and great freshness, finishing long. (LPB)” (03/2017)

“Bright mid to dark crimson. Big and sweet on the start - very flattering and easy to like. Tannins fully resolved. This might well stand up to tonight's bavette! Really quite sweet on the palate. Fairly fresh and ferny - a long way from the subtle dryness of a good Burgundy but it's a very good, enjoyable, fairly cool California Pinot. Ready to drink. (JR)” (01/2018)

“Very tight and structured, with firm, gripping tannins and submerged dark berry, spice and cedary oak flavors. Requires patience. (JL)” (06/2017)
