Aged for four years in ex-bourbon barrels in Guatemala before being moved to European cellars for another decade of maturation, it combines the deep, tropical intensity of Central American aging with the slower, more polished evolution that comes from long continental rest. So much rum from this part of the world arrives softened, sweetened, and carefully engineered for easy appeal, but this barrel offers something far more honest and exciting. The depth here is impossible to overstate: dense tropical fruit, roasted pineapple, dark banana, molasses cake, bold baking spice, toasted vanilla, polished oak, and a long, warming, beautifully dry finish.
