“The 2018 Pirouette checks in as 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, and 10% Petit Verdot aged 22 months in 85% new French oak. Deep purple-hued, it's a young, unevolved yet incredibly promising red with smoking good notes of ripe black and blue fruits as well as tobacco, graphite, and chocolate. Dense, full-bodied, and concentrated on the palate, it needs 3-5 years of bottle age but has the depth, balance, and class to evolve for 15-20 years or more (JD).” (05/2021)

“Almost opaque in color, the 2018 Pirouette offers a nose filled with dark, dense, inky fruit aromas with firm layers of black cherry and dusty blackberry and notions of red and purple flowers and bitter black tea. Medium to full-bodied, this Cabernet blend is layered but still has a firm tannic edge that will benefit from an additional year of bottle aging. A fantastic wine, it ends with a tight, complex and elongated finish. I’m going back for a second sip! (AM)” (05/2023)

“Aromas of black fruit, herbs, spices and dried earth. It’s full-bodied with chewy tannins. Dense and full with a dusty, chalky texture and a firm finish. A blend of 68% cabernet sauvignon, 22% merlot and 10% petit verdot.” (06/2021)

Wine Enthusiast
“Cabernet Sauvignon comprises 68% of this wine, with the rest Merlot (22%) and Petit Verdot. The aromas offer notes of espresso, dark chocolate, cedar box, spice and black cherry. Velvety flavors follow, showing richness and sophistication. Give it additional time in bottle or decant. Best after 2027. *Cellar Selection* (SS)” (05/2022)
