“A discreet application of wood sets off a combination of both red and dark pinot fruit along with sauvage, humus and stone notes. This is unusually concentrated for an Esmonin Mazis with ripe supporting tannins shaping the fleshy and seductively textured medium-bodied flavors that brim with a fine minerality on the impressively well-balanced and persistent finish. “Good bright red-ruby. Expressive, nuanced nose offers redcurrant, spicy oak, flowers, menthol, licorice and a whiff of game. Sweet and fine-grained, with juicy, intense red fruit flavors picking up notes of licorice and bitter chocolate with air. Not particularly fleshy, in fact a bit youthfully severe today.
