Rich, deep and powerful in the glass, with tons of Calistoga muscle, the 2013 is endowed with serious intensity in all of its dimensions. An exotic mélange of black cherry, chocolate, leather, licorice, earthiness, smoke and tobacco gives the wine much of its complexity. Winemaker's notes: "The 2013 Estate Cabernet is a bold, layered, young wine offering generous fruit enveloping great structure. Showing bright red and blackberry flavors with crushed currants, a touch of cedar, and tobacco on the nose; it continues onto the palate with a supple, fleshy texture that is lifted by vibrant acidity. The finish lingers with firm, yet integrated tannins. It is will cellar well over the years as well as pair well with food now."
