There’s a lovely depth of fruit here with lifted, perfumed aromas of cherries, rose petals, blood oranges, hibiscus and terra-cotta. The medium-bodied palate has a silky, rounded mouthfeel, supported by fine-grained tannins. A great balance between freshness and power, offering immediate drinking pleasure and good aging potential.

An even ruby purple. This is very complete, the fruit covering the palate effortlessly, the acid and tannin structure perfectly balanced and a particularly long aftertaste with a suggestion of blood orange.

Raspberries, red currants and rhubarb pop from the nose. The palate feels electric—a live wire of humming acidity. The tannins are a touch crunchy and can use a bit more time to meld into the medium body. This will deliver plenty of pleasure within a few years yet can hold nicely through the mid-term, too.

This rich red cuts a broad and silky swath on the palate, delivering plum, cherry, iron, spice and tobacco flavors. Its tannins are dense but well-integrated, while the finish extends nicely. Best from 2029 through 2047. 1

Email ScottI think that I kind of have a soft spot for the wines of Louis Jadot. While in late high school/early college, my mom and stepfather would have their Pouilly-Fuisse in the house. I distinctly remember the angel on the label and that it was usually served with fresh caught abalone off the Pacifica pier (and garlic bread!). Those days of that abalone off of that pier are long gone! What remains are the fond memories of Louis Jadot wines. This Beaune is really a bump up on the complexity scale! Round cherry fruit, baking spices, light and fragrant) pipe tobacco and orange peel. Mouth-watering texture and some very nice tartness on the finish. Super elegant and really just a pleasure to taste.
