I think that I kind of have a soft spot for the wines of Louis Jadot. While in late high school/early college, my mom and stepfather would have their Pouilly-Fuisse in the house. I distinctly remember the angel on the label and that it was usually served with fresh caught abalone off the Pacifica pier (and garlic bread!). Those days of that abalone off of that pier are long gone! What remains are the fond memories of Louis Jadot wines. This Beaune is really a bump up on the complexity scale! Round cherry fruit, baking spices, light and fragrant) pipe tobacco and orange peel. Mouth-watering texture and some very nice tartness on the finish. Super elegant and really just a pleasure to taste.
