2014 Outpost "Immigrant - True Vineyard" Howell Mountain Bordeaux Blend

“The proprietary red wine, the 2014 True Vineyard Immigrant is a blend of 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Cabernet Franc and 27% Merlot. Absolutely spectacular, this wine was aged 20 months in 70% new French oak. It has a deep, dense, opaque purple color and a glorious nose of spring flowers, forest floor, black raspberries, blueberries and lead pencil shaving as well as a touch of licorice. It is full-bodied and intense, but cuts a relatively elegant feel across the palate in spite of its profound intensity. This is a super-rich, strikingly intriguing and provocative wine to drink over the next 15-20 years. I loved it. (RP)” (10/2016)
