The 2021 Pinot Noir One Acre from Anderson Valley is potent with spice box, fresh red fruit, and savory herbs. Medium to full-bodied, with loads of structure, it delivers notes of savory pine resin, tea leaf, and blood orange. Drink 2026-2040. (AF)

The 2021 Pinot Noir One Acre has opened since I tasted it in early 2023, and it offers heightened detail and nuance at this stage. Dried cranberries are accented by notes of wild fennel, mixed tea leaves, tree bark, licorice and orange peel. The medium-bodied palate features complex layers of red fruit, earth and spice. It has a velvety frame of tannins, a firm spine of acidity and a very long finish. (EB)

The 2021 One Acre Pinot Noir is pale ruby-purple in color. The most gorgeous perfume of rose oil, jasmine tea, and mandarin peel jumps from the glass, giving way to a core of fresh raspberries and cranberries with a waft of peonies. The light to medium-bodied palate is wonderfully fragrant, with seamless freshness and a silken texture, finishing with a quiet intensity that is mesmerizing. "We bought this 1-acre site in 2016, and just added another 3.4 acres," says owner/winemaker Ted Lemon. "It is a very high vineyard, at 1,600 feet." (LPB)

The original Rich Savoy vineyard, planted in 1986, is on top of the mountain, at around 600m above the town of Boonville. At about 3ha in total, Littorai contracted .3ha starting in 1993. The Lemons purchased the One Acre site from the broader Deer Meadows vineyard. It became part of the Littorai estate in 2017, with gorgeous depth and concentration with dark fruit aromas melding with black tea leaves and an earth-aged minerality. The palate shows dusty blackberries teasing a bit more ripeness. This was the first wine that Littorai made in 1993—rich, dark fruit yet elegantly balanced. (CP)
