The 2018 La Fleur De Boüard is mostly Merlot but includes 12% Cabernet Franc and just a splash of Cabernet Sauvignon. Blueberries, cassis, graphite, charcoal, and subtle oak notes all emerge from this medium to full-bodied, concentrated, beautifully balanced 2018 that has a terrific mid-palate, ripe tannins, and a great finish. I’d be happy to have bottles in the cellar.

La Fleur de Boüard is fabulous in 2018. Rich and pliant on the palate, with terrific aromatic intensity and silky tannins, the 2018 is beautifully expressive and persistent. There is plenty to look forward to, that much is clear. La Fleur de Boüard is super-inviting, even in the early going. The blend is 85% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon. (AG)

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 La Fleur de Boüard displays pronounced scents of baked blackberries, black cherry coulis and tilled soil with hints of kirsch, dried herbs and fungi. Medium to full-bodied with generous black fruits and a soft texture, it has just enough freshness and an earthy finish. The blend here is 85% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon.
