The 2004 is not one of them. Rich and explosive from the outset, the 2004 has all of the elements to be one of the truly profound Montevetranos. “The 2004 Montevetrano is a knock-out. Endless layers of richly textured dark fruit floss from the glass as this gorgeous wine gradually reveals the depth of its expression. Tar, smoke, menthol, eucalyptus and earthiness emerge with air, adding further complexity as the wine sits in the glass. Gorgeously long and pure - with a finish that lasts forever- this sumptuous wine is not to be missed. Montevetrano is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 10% Aglianico. (AG)” (02/2008)
