2023 Domaine Guilhem & Jean-Hughes Goisot Bourgogne Rouge "Corps de Garde"

This classic cuvée of Pinot Noir surprises with a fairly deep colour and pronounced ripe black cherries and plum aromas. The texture is lively and elegant, with medium body and silky tannins but enough stuffing to make it feel plump on the palate. The grapes are blended from a number of parcels of vines aged 40-70 years, mostly at mid-slope on marl and clay soils. The ferment is long and slow, with a gentle extraction (very little punching down) before ageing in small casks.(CC)
