“The 2010 Château Malescot St. Exupery is a total gem. THis instantly begins to impress with its gorgeous aromatics of ripe blackberries and currants woven together with tobacco, espresso, fresh flowers all emerging form the glass. On the palate this possesses a gorgeous rich texture and well structured with velvety tannins that provide plenty of support. It shows remarkable depth and concentration with a beautifully polished finish. While this is already extremely impressive it will without doubt go on to have a wonderful long future ahead. “Enjoyable, richly textured, this is open and at the start of its drinking window, attractive depth through the mid palate, a little overly smoked that threatens the balance on the finish, but there is a lot to enjoy here with graphite, crayon and liquorice root set against damson fruits - and the rich texture that comes into focus after a good 30 minutes in the glass suggests that it will develop further over the next decade or so. 80% new oak.” (09/2024)

“Good deep ruby-red. High-pitched aromas of raspberry, cherry liqueur, flowers and cedary cigar box. A sweet, dense midweight with penetrating red cherry and floral flavors accented by sound acidity. Nothing thick or heavy about this wine but it possesses plenty of chewy depth. Boasts excellent early balance but has the firm, sweet tannins and finishing bite and length for at least a couple decades of positive evolution in bottle. (ST)” (07/2013)
