Bid on this 3-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 1987 Rochioli Russian River Valley Late Harvest Zinfandel, 1-bottle of 1998 Rochioli "West Block" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir ((91-94RP), 90VN), and 1-bottle of 2015 Rochioli "Sweetwater Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (93JS, 93RP). Of the 1998 Rochioli "West Block" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, Wine Advocate writes: "Concentration, extract and perfume increase with the 350 case lot of 1998 Pinot Noir West Block. Aged in 100% new Francois Freres oak barrels, it exhibits an alluring bouquet of black raspberries, flowers and cherry liqueur. Rich and medium to full-bodied, with gorgeous purity as well as symmetry, this multidimensional Pinot Noir will require 1-2 years of bottle age in order to shed its aggressive tannin. (RP)" (01/2000)

Rochioli Vineyards is a third-generation family estate on Westside Road in Healdsburg, in the Russian River Valley. The family has farmed this land since Joe Rochioli Sr. became foreman of the Wohler Ranch in 1920 and purchased the property — then called Fenton Acres — in the mid-1950s. The property was renamed Rochioli Vineyards in 1983 when Tom Rochioli took over as winemaker, and today his daughter Rachael serves as General Manager and his son Ryan works as assistant winemaker.
