The oak gives a nutty element. It’s a pretty stylish opening. The palate is soft, flows with suave dark berry content, is sleek, with oak and dusted tannins in play from the mid-point. This is all nicely together, doesn’t reach for the stars, but presents a good glass of elegant Châteauneuf that is not too locked away. It persists soundly, has good, steady length, produces raspberry mixed with the oak on the finish. From mid-2022, allow it to breathe." (04/2021)
