Tequila Los Valores Reposado builds on the same transparent foundation as the blanco, with just enough barrel influence to broaden the profile without burying the agave. Produced at Compañia Tequilera Los Valores in Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillos, Jalisco, the distillery began production in 2019 and is run by Ricardo Aguilar and his family. The town sits between Guadalajara and Lake Chapala, outside the easy binary of highland versus lowland tequila, and Los Valores presents that position as part of its identity, capturing both the vegetal, green tones associated with the lowlands and the sweeter, more mineral character often linked to the highlands. Made from 100% Tequiliana Weber agave harvested between 5 and 8 years of age, the reposado is milled by roller mill, naturally fermented in stainless steel tanks with underground spring water, and distilled twice in stainless steel pot stills. The agave is cooked 70% in a stone oven and 30% in a low-pressure autoclave, then matured for 5 months in ex-bourbon barrels before bottling at 40% ABV. Made without diffusers or additives, and listed as 100% additive free, this is a purist’s reposado: lightly rested, not over-oaked, and built around the distillery’s clean, honest production rather than sweetening or cosmetic manipulation. A serious, value-driven tequila from one of Jalisco’s newer small family producers.
