Reviewed April 2026A linear wine with very fine tannins that remind me of the great Les Pensees of the 1990s. Perfumed and sophisticated. Medium-bodied, integrated and pure. Dense yet agile. 67% merlot and 33% cabernet franc.

Unwinding in the glass with aromas of dark berries, cherries, licorice and truffle, framed by a deft touch of oak, the 2025 Pensées de Lafleur is medium- to full-bodied, rich and velvety, with an enveloping core of fruit, bright acids and a rather muscular, broad-shouldered profile. Impressive but distinctly serious, this is a structured Pensées that will reward patience. (WK)

Rose petal aromatics, ushering in juice, lift and amplitude. Grilled almonds, marzipan, anis, fennel, layered through luscious raspberry and damson fruits. Expansive and nuanced, delicious. 33% new oak. Harvest August 28 to September 12.
Notes
As of 2025, Lafleur and their stable of releases has left the Bordeaux classification, which means they are no labelled Vin de France. They are still crafted by the same team and treasured terroirs, but do not have their regional designation on the bottle.
