The 2009 Rosso di Montalcino (from tank) caresses the palate with sweet red berries, flowers, spices, mint and minerals. The 2009 impresses for its silky tannins and exceptional overall balance. Although it hadn't been bottled at the time of my visit, the 2009 Rosso is shaping up to be one of the finest wines in what is a very tricky vintage for Montalcino. This is a Rosso of impeccable class and finesse. (AG)
