James Suckling
This striking, fresh and linear wine is so vivid in crisp acidity, red berries and blackcurrants. Lively on the palate, offering moderate tannins to support focused raspberries, tart cherries and woodsy, smoky accents that open up in the glass. Medium-bodied, super well balanced and appetizing. Drink now or hold.

Wine Enthusiast
There’s a lovely high-tone cranberry kick to the nose of this coastal Pinot, with whispers of nori and sweet cinnamon resonating. The palate is dramatic, with flavors of tart cherry, sage, roses, black tea, and plum bouncing everywhere. This wine is complex and delicious now, but patience will be rewarded. Best from 2030–2040. Cellar Selection.

Vinous
The 2023 Pinot Noir (West Sonoma Coast) is a total stunner. Dark, rich and explosive, the 2023 possesses notable textural depth. Its resonance builds into the mid-palate and extends into a gorgeous, exuberant finish. The purity of the flavors here is just superb. Most of the fruit is from Goldrock, Paul Hobbs' vineyard in Annapolis.

Wine Advocate
The 2023 Pinot Noir West Sonoma Coast has pure aromas of red cherry, pomegranate, wildflowers, forest floor and bitters. The medium-bodied palate is powerful and energetic. Its crunchy red fruit flavors are structured by lacy tannins and vibrant, mouthwatering acidity, and it has a long, expressive finish.
