Bid on this 3-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 2009 Arns (PNVA) "Lot 62" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, 1-bottle of 2013 Wise Acre Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, and 1-bottle of 2019 Aperture "Soil Specific" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP). Of the 2019 Aperture "Soil Specific" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon, Wine Advocate writes: "The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, blended with 3% Merlot and 1% Malbec, explodes with a detailed fragrance of violet, mint leaves, Morello cherries and blueberries, with touches of graphite. The palate is velvety and fresh, with concentrated, ripe fruits that continue to unfold as it glides across the palate to a long finish. Winemaker Jesse Katz and associate winemaker Hillary Sjolund note that this is the first vintage that Cabernet Sauvignon has made up so much of the blend. 2, 889 cases were made. (EB)" (07/2022)

Arns Winery was founded in 1990 by John Arns and Sandi Belcher, who had been growing grapes for other Napa Valley producers before releasing their own first Cabernet Sauvignon with the 1992 vintage. The estate vineyard sits at 800 feet elevation just below the Howell Mountain appellation, planted at high density to seven Cabernet Sauvignon clones of varying age in Aiken and Boomer gravelly loam soils, with all wines aged in 100% new French oak and bottled when deemed ready rather than on a fixed schedule. Sandi Belcher serves as winemaker, with 27 years of prior experience making wine at Long Vineyards on Pritchard Hill.
