2022 Schnaitmann "Steinwiege" Pinot Noir Württemberg

From calcareous gypsum Keuper soils on top sites of the Remstal, macerated over three weeks (partly with whole grapes) and aged for 12 months in old 300-liter wooden barrels, the unfiltered 2022 Pinot Noir Steinwiege opens with a clear, fresh and intensely fragrant bouquet of red fruits and floral and earthy/mineral aromas. Silky, fresh and juicy on the palate, with clear and precise fruit and structured by fine tannins and delicate, stimulating crystalline acidity, this medium to full-bodied Pinot shows remarkable purity, elegance and class. It's almost too good for an estate wine. It was bottled in October last year with 12.5% stated alcohol and a Diam 10 cork. Tasted at the domaine in August 2024.(SR)
