James Suckling

Elegant and spicy, with a silky texture and mouthwatering acidity and tannins. Red and black tea, savory mountain herbs, tobacco and crushed roses on the palate. Really good. Drink or hold.

Decanter

From two Rattlesnake Hills sites, this Cabernet Sauvignon stays true to the variety, offering plenty of herbal freshness alongside lovely red and black fruits. This wine was sourced from the Schmidt and Portteus Vineyards. Aromas of desert pine, wild lavender and currant jam alight the glass. The palate offers fresh red berries, dried strawberries and mint with notes of clove and star anise. It's fresh and delicious and perfect for food.

Notes

Founded by brothers Matthew and Patrick Rawn, Two Mountain Winery is a fourth-generation family estate dedicated exclusively to estate-grown wines from the Rattlesnake Hills AVA in Washington's Yakima Valley. The estate's sustainably farmed vineyards benefit from warm, sunny days, cool nights, and the Cascade Range's rain-shadow effect, while well-drained soils and a long growing season allow Cabernet Sauvignon to achieve full ripeness without sacrificing freshness. This combination of meticulous farming and distinctive terroir produces a vibrant expression of Rattlesnake Hills Cabernet Sauvignon, balancing ripe fruit, structure, and natural acidity.
