2013 Earthquake Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon

Wine Advocate
Review Date: 08/2015The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Earthquake is another 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, but in this case aged all in American oak and in quantities far less abundant at 35,000 cases. This wine shows sweet blackberry and cassis fruit, with outstanding intensity, purity, a full-bodied mouthfeel and a savory, plump finish. Drink it between now and 2018. This is another winner from Michael David Winery. (RP)

Flavors are deep and rich in this bold, full-bodied and mouthfilling wine. It smells like molasses, Bing cherries and black plums, tastes as if saturated with blackcurrants and cherries and has a layer of fine-grained tannin to add texture. *Editors' Choice* (JG)
