Brunello di Montalcino is one of Tuscany’s benchmark DOCG wines, made from Sangiovese grown around the hill town of Montalcino. The appellation requires extended aging before release, including time in wood, which gives the category its more structured, cellar-oriented profile compared with many neighboring Tuscan reds.
