2012 Bodegas y Vinedos Tabula ''Tabula'' Ribera del Duero
JR
Jancis Robinson
Review Date: 08/2015Tempranillo. The wine comes from three different villages Roa, La Horra and La Aguilera, they were planted between 1955 and 1975. Limited yields (3,500 kg/ha). Hand harvested and transported in refrigerated trucks to the winery. Cold maceration and fermented with spontaneous yeast in wooden vats. Aged in French oak barrels. Good levels of intensity and complexity on the nose, it displays red cherries, cedar, cacao and a toasted lift. Good definition on the aromatics. The palate is smooth and less explosive than the average of the region, however its delicacy is part of its interest. Really charged with oak but still harmonious. Hedonistic wine. (FC) 16.5/20 Points.

Notes
Based in Olivares de Duero in Valladolid, Bodegas y Viñedos Tábula was founded in the early 2000s with estate vineyards in Ribera del Duero. The namesake Tábula bottling sits above the producer's Damana range and is typically made from Tinto Fino with aging in French oak.
