2020 Maison Louis Latour Montrachet Grand Cru
Notes
Maison Louis Latour has worked from Aloxe Corton since 1797, building a family estate that now holds the largest Grand Cru acreage in the Côte d’Or. The core sits around Corton Charlemagne and multiple red Corton parcels, supported by long running Pinot Noir and Chardonnay production. The historic Corton Grancey winery, completed in 1834, remains the center of operations and reflects the house’s early move toward purpose built winemaking. The domaine farms about 120 acres, including major Grand Cru sites in Chambertin, Romanée Saint Vivant, and Chevalier Montrachet. The family also runs a négociant arm begun in 1867 and continues to expand through Chablis and Beaujolais. Montrachet is one of the Côte de Beaune's defining grand cru appellations, shared between Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet and devoted to Chardonnay.
