Review Date: 01/2026A lively mid lemon colour, with a sublime bouquet, really classy with just a marine tendril infiltrating the clean white orchard fruit. The oak is entirely in the background. Perfect balance on the palate and a fine long finish, with energy. Entirely happy with this. Alcohol 13.00%. Drink from 2027-2033. Tasted Jun 2025.

There are two old parcels here that Charlène says always have plenty of leaves and suffer little disease. All of their massale comes from here. The wine offers sheer pleasure between its tangy, pure fruit intensity and sea shell note salinity. Grapefruit, preserved lemon and candle wax drift into the substantial finish. This may be the most exciting Pinson Forêt I've tasted at this stage.

Note: very old vines of an indeterminate age; vinified in stainless and raised in wood. More evident Chablis character is present on the nose of green fruit, mineral reduction, citrus confit and shellfish scents. There isn't quite the same density to the otherwise solidly powerful and attractively textured medium-bodied flavors that conclude in a dry, linear, chiseled and lemony finish. This chalky effort is also very good and I especially like the balance - also worth checking out.*Burghound Outstanding!*

The 2023 Chablis Fôret 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet with Granny Smith, granite and light flinty aromas. There's good energy here. The palate is well balanced with decent density and a keen thread of acidity. This is lightly spiced with a rounded, white pepper-tinged finish. There is plenty of potential here. Tasted blind at the BIVB offices in Chablis.(NM)
