Savory, complex and very structured. Savory sour berries, cranberries and ashy minerals with ripe stems, rose hips and a touch of tar, licorice, balsamic and blood orange. This is very powerful and broad-shouldered on the palate. But as you let it breathe, this Barolo certainly gets a bit more airy and perfumed. Drink from 2026. (ZS)

This wine is a tour de force, showcasing the extraordinary potential of the vintage and the skill of this legendary producer. The wine opens with an alluring bouquet of macerated cherries in spirits, complemented by a medley of sweet and juicy spices. Candied licorice adds depth and complexity to the aromatic profile. On the palate, the wine is firm and densely packed with dark fruit, revealing its true power and structure. Built for the long haul, with the potential to evolve and develop over decades, a genuine powerhouse. Drink 2026 - 2050 *Cellar Selection* (JP)

The stems in Teodoro are very ripe, so the estate uses 60% whole clusters to make their Barolo Riserva and holds it in bottle another five years before release. A saturated red color, the 2016 Barolo Riserva boasts notes of cherry liqueur, licorice, crushed rocks, and black truffle. Medium-bodied, it has more depth and rich concentration on the palate, with ripe tannins and a seamless structure. Balanced and harmonious, it’s really starting to show its character and is going to be a cellar-worthy wine for the next 20 or more years. (AF)

Still showing primary fruit flavors of cherry and black currant, this red is also well-structured and sleek, with lively acidity and a dense matrix of tannins. Mineral, rose hip and underbrush accents complete the picture. This still needs time. Best from 2026 through 2045. (BS)
