Reviewed March 2025The 2022 Meyney has turned out very well, offering up aromas of crème de cassis, bay leaf and pencil shavings, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and fleshy palate that's rich and seamless, exhibiting an integration of tannin that can't always be taken for granted at this address. In fact, this appears to be the best Meyney produced for quite some time, and it's well worth seeking out. (WK)

Juicy and tense - this has bright acidity and lovely crystalline fruit with quite a straight and streamlined core of blackcurrants and tannins edged in a salty and spicy liquorice. It's not hot, there's no real sense of the vintage in terms of alcohol, and there's lovely cooling mint, cola, blueberry and crushed stone touches on the finish. Feels really balanced and out to please. Lovely. (GH)

Intense and concentrated, with ageing capacity and delivers on Cru Bourgeois promise - dark fruits, tannic architecture that is holding things in place without strangling, allowing the emphasis on lean and savoury cassis, graphite and liquorice root. Good value, this is enjoyable and one to look out for. 33% new oak, 24hl/h yield, sandy clay soils, Pracha Hetrakul, a Thai owner.

This medium-bodied red has notes of blackberries graphite and cocoa powder. It’s fresh and focused with fine tannins and a lightly chalky finish. 44% merlot, 40% cabernet sauvignon, 11% petit verdot and 5% cabernet franc. From organically grown grapes.
