The 2006 Morellino di Scansano Tempo Riserva is a darker wine laced with smoke, earthiness grilled herbs, black cherries and an array of darker aromas and flavors. Still quite brooding, this masculine, intense Morellino will require a measure of patience, something I don't think I have ever written about a Morellino in the past. Make no mistake about it, this is a serious wine. The Riserva is 90% Sangiovese, 5% Alicante, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. (AG)
