2017 & 2020 Schrader "Boars' View" & Arista Chardonnay Tasting Lot

Bid on this 2-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 2017 Schrader "Boars' View" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (93JD, 90WS) and 1-bottle of 2020 Arista "El Diablo Vineyard" Russian River Valley Chardonnay. Of the 2017 Schrader "Boars' View" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay, Jeb Dunnuck writes: "Slightly lighter gold-hued than the 2016, the 2017 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast is another riveting Chardonnay from Thomas Brown. Honeysuckle, marmalade, caramelized peaches, and spice notes all dominate the bouquet, and it's a more focused, linear wine compared to the 2016 yet still has beautiful depth and purity. This is another powerful wine that will be loved by California Chardonnay lovers out there. Drink it over the coming 7-8 years." (05/2020)

Wine Spectator

Well-knit, plush and open-textured, with flavors of pineapple pastry and angel food cake. Light, buttery notes show midpalate, leading to a finish that lingers with accents of almond tart. (KM) (08/2020)

Arista Winery is a small, family-owned Sonoma County producer focused on single-vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from top coastal sites. The El Diablo Vineyard lies in the Russian River Valley, where cool Pacific fog, well-drained soils, and a long growing season provide ideal conditions for Chardonnay to ripen slowly and evenly. These conditions yield wines that reflect the balance, freshness, and site-driven character of this classic Sonoma terroir.
