First introduced in the early 1990s, Modus marked a modern chapter for Ruffino, blending Tuscany’s traditional heartland with an international outlook at a time when IGT wines were redefining regional identity. The 2008 bottling draws on hillside vineyards across central Tuscany, where elevation and exposure temper warm Mediterranean conditions and extend the growing season. A mix of galestro and clay-rich soils provides both drainage and water retention, supporting structure and balance rather than excess. This wine reflects Tuscany’s evolving terroir, expressed through careful blending that prioritizes proportion, freshness, and site harmony.
